With the Annual East London golf club & Hemmingway's Bridal fair's that just passed we thought that this would be a good subject to tackle. Options is always a good thing and every woman out there is different so here is my key notes on the top tips when choosing the person who will be making faces with you on your wedding day or special occation.
I have also added some questions that can be good to ask when making your decision. I have left the answers to my questions below that will save you asking.
Quality of product is so important, especially when you will be standing in front of a professional photographer with that big sharp lens and flash. Professional products does not reflect on photos! Ever seen those photos where it looks like someone has a mask on? Jip! their foundation reflected against the flash on the photos. I am sure you are trying to avoid the "Phantom of the opera" look on your big day so do some research on the products used.
Opt for professional products because they also last way longer. Normal foundations and eye shadows fade within a couple of hours and does not deal well with heat or sweat (this will come in handy if you would like to not only look fab at midnight still but also if you want to own that dance floor.)
What products does BEAutiful use?
Kryolan - Suitable for stage and cameras. World wide known and Kryolan creates two-thirds of global production of professional makeup for film, TV and theater.
Have you ever liked or disliked something before giving it a try? No, because how would you know. Surely you won't want to try figure this out on your wedding day. That is why it is so important to book a Trial make up with your make up artist to make sure you know what to expect and she knows what to do. Go for the person who will allow you a trial session as this will tick make up off your list completely and help you relax on the big day.
*Note to book this not too long in advance, especially if you going to still tan.
Does BEAutiful offer trial make up?
Yes! Our bridal make up package comes standard with a trial. This being more than just putting on according to a picture you like, it includes a full consultation on your all over look and style making sure it matches your day and dress and making sure that we make all arrangements as to what you want your following to look like.
You are allowed to ask the person any questions if you are interested in their service... Example when last they did a wedding or how long they have been doing make-up professionaly for and where they qualified. Keep in mind that experience is not only key with the make up itself but also with time management and handling of oopsies on the day. You do not want a make up artist that is more stressed than you!
How experienced is BEAutiful?
8 years of doing professional make up with a Diploma in Make-up Artistry from Face to Face Academy.
When your service provider can travel to where you are getting ready it does make your day less stressful, especially if you are getting married out of town. What better than having to know your appointment comes to you and you can just sit back.
Does BEAutiful travel?
Yes we do, all travel costs in East London is covered and travels out of town available at additional cost.
How much easier to deal with one person rather than 3 or 4. Ask the make up artist if they offer any extra services and add-on's. It would be ideal from an admin point of view and also you will benefit financially dealing with one person only most of the time. Good add on's to ask for would be hair, lashes, spray tan, nails, massage etc.
What extras does BEAutiful offer?
Make up Artistry for all ages, Fast Fashion hair styling & Image consulting.
It is important to find someone that can work within your budget. Remember that the cheapest inst always necessarily the best, nor is most expensive. Value for money is important but remember if one artist's cost is way below others it can be that they do not carry a high cost in product and equipment. Naturally someone who uses great quality products will be a bit more expensive.
What can BEAutiful do for my budget?
I have packages that was put together to assist people in saving when adding the wedding party and mothers or guests for make up.
Be sure to use social media to check out the style that a make up artist uses. Do they always do the same thing? (No problem if they are doing exactly what you are wanting all the time) But keep in when booking for your wedding party it is good to know that someone can do more than one thing and work on all different skins and a variety of styles.
What is BEAutiful's style?
Your style is my style. I work on any skin color and cater for any event or need.
I even once had to do a groom after the remainders of the bachelors black eye was yet to be gone on the wedding day. #proud #notproud
Make sure to meet and greet or arrange your trial, it is always in your own best interest to book someone you will be comfortable with. This also makes the procedures easier when you have questions or want changes. A good click with a make up artist makes the whole experience informal and low key so you can relax and sip away on that champagne in comfort.
What other people say and experience does matter and can help you make a better diction. Be sure to go look at Facebook reviews on their page or even Trip Advisor should you be booking at a Salon. Go look at the comments and remember there is always that one person who would have been happy with nothing, you will spot them quickly as they should not affect your choice.
BEAutiful value all feedback and we encourage all our clients to leave a review on Facebook.
Some received via email is on the website to view.
Make sure to go with the person who is open to give advice and recommend your pre-wedding prep as per analyses during your trial. Make sure that this is someone you can freely phone or message when needing advice on your face and skin. A professional opinion can go a long way.
How does BEAutiful prep?
I have a list of recommended vendors, this is people in the beauty field I have worked with. I often recommend eyebrow shapes, tinting, hair color and facials when needed. I also assist in what to take with to the wedding and what moisturizer or products to buy pre-wedding.
